The New Normal — Setting the Standard for Patient Engaged Care

Thanks to everyone who came to see us at HIMSS15. If you didn't get a chance to swing by and say hello check out Tom Riley's speech at the Mobile Health Knowledge Center on how, with the right approach, patients can play an active role in the course of their treatment and see the impact of their actions over time — ultimately leading to better health outcomes.Beginning with his personal experience caring for a loved one with a serious medical condition, Tom developed a method that engages patients directly and asks them to report how and what they feel, which better prepares them to communicate with their care team about what matters most. It measures outcomes previously unmeasurable, enabling care teams to watch for signs that treatment and medication is actually improving the patient’s overall quality of life.
